What is Mexican Food?

Mexican cuisine is a celebration of the diverse flavors and culinary traditions found throughout Mexico's interior and coastal regions. From the rich moles of Oaxaca and Puebla to the fresh Gulf seafood of Veracruz and Yucatán, each region tells its own story through food. At Manuel's, we honor these traditions by preparing everything from scratch—from hand-pressed tortillas and freshly made salsas to thoughtfully crafted dishes inspired by the distinct flavors of Mexico's many regions.

The food was absolutely spectacular and beautifully prepared — ceviche, enchiladas, queso, blackened fish, nachos, guacamole, signature cocktails, the poblano soup… all so divine. Hands down one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Austin. Highly recommend!

Manuel's is an old Austin gem I've been visiting for years. Their patio and ambiance capture the soul of Austin so well. The relleno and mole are first rate, and the staff and the owner Jenn are so warm and welcoming.

We've been dining at Manuel's for about 10 years now — it's always been a staple and the food is delicious. The poblano soup is the best tasting soup, poured table-side, and the enchiladas are, in our opinion, the best in town.

One of my favorite restaurants in Austin — I've been going for 30 years. Their menu of interior Mexican food is by far the best around. This is NOT Tex-Mex; it's the real deal, with the finest ingredients and a fabulous blend of spices. You will never regret dining there!

Food and service were amazing! Loved the drink selection and presentation of everything, plus lots of gluten-free and vegetarian options. The food was fantastic, but honestly I'd go back just based on the drinks alone. A perfect night out!
